WOF
Your car, light van, trailer or motorbike legally requires a Warrant Of Fitness to travel on New Zealand roads and to be registered. From July 2014 all cars registered in NZ after 1st Jan 2001 are required to pass a Warrant Inspection annually and older cars every 6 months. It is legally your responsibility to maintain your car to WOF standards between inspections. We can make it easier for you by sending you reminders prior to your Warrant expiring.
Using the MTA safety check list we inspect:
UNDER THE BONNET: vin and chasis numbers are correct
ROAD TEST: brakes, speedo, wipers and washers, mirrors and horn are operating effectively
VEHICLE INTERIOR: seatbelts, door locks and interior fittings are effective and safe
LIGHTS: all lights are performing correctly
VEHICLE EXTERIOR: windscreens, dimensions, mudguards etc all meet standards
UNDERBODY: steering, suspension, exhaust and other vehicle structures meet standards
SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS: fuel system, exhaust systems tow bar and working components comply to standards
If your vehicle meets the standards required we will issue you with a Warrant of Fitness. To help you with future care we can organise for you to get a reminder for your next check. If your vehicle fails, we can perform the necessary repairs to get it to standard.
